Mr. Cheath Khemara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law & Political Science and Master’s Degree in Public Administration. From 1980 to 1987 he worked for Khmer People Liberation Military Front (KPLM) in the position of Chief of 2nd Office of General Headquarter in Banteay Meanchey. Between 1984 and 1986, he was a Church Leader of Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA/ADRA ) based in Khao I. Dang Refugee Camp, Prachinbory, Thailand. 1986 – 1991 he was a Philosophy & Khmer Civilization Teacher at Angkor Wat Secondary School in Kao I. Dang Refugee Camp, Prachinbory, Thailand. 1991 – 1992 he was a Human Rights Trainer of UNBRO / IRC at Kao I. Dang Refugee Camp, Thailand. 1992 – 1993 he was a Team Leader for Electoral Campaign Component of UNTAC based in Prasat Palaing District, Kampong Thom Province. 1993 – 1995 he was a Human Rights Trainer for Trainer Human Rights Association (THRA) based in Kampong Thom. 1995 – 1999 he was a legal officer of UNDP / Project CMB/005 / at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and since 1999 until now he has been with the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) as a Senior Labour Officer with the responsibility for providing labour law- and labour dispute-related consultations, compiling labour law-related documents and regulations both in Khmer and English versions, providing fundamental labour law consultation for new joining member, and labour law-related trainings to members, as well as human rights law training.
