This course will mainly focus on the knowledge of garment quality management and the roles and responsibilities of quality checkers as well as quality controlling supervisors. Many methods to deduct defect rate are added to the course contents such as pre-production quality management, production-in-process quality management and post-production quality management.     

In addition, the detailed techniques of garment checking, garment measuring methods, defect cause investigation, defect prevention, quality problem solving methods are included in this course to ensure that the participants who attend this course will have enough ability to solve those problems as they are related to garment quality and occur regularly at work. The structure of quality management and information about AQL (accepted quality level) of some buyers will be provided through this course as well.

Course Description

This course aims to improve the quality of sewing  and increase production in any apparel manufacturing facility. The subject comprises of 5 modules; process analysis, operation analysis, time study, motion study and production design.  Through this course, participants will also be able to learn the concept of middle management and its rule, the method of fair work allocation on each operator and the idea to layout the sewing machines based on the style of garment, number of sewing machines, number of operators and the number of orders per style. In addition, 5s knowledge, problem investigation process and work improvement (Kaizen) method will also be trained in this course.

Although a factory is well organized; the dispute is likely to occur eventually. Factories can prepare their dispute resolution procedure in advance in agreement with workers’ representatives. Unless otherwise agreed, the dispute will be resolved according to the Cambodian labor law procedure. These procedures differ depending on whether it is an individual or collective dispute.

Objectives

It is very important that the factory managers know how to deal with it. Under the Cambodian Labor Law, the labor disputes are divided into Individual Labor Disputes and the Collective ones. Although a factory is well organized, the dispute is likely to occur eventually. Factories can prepare their dispute resolution procedure in advance in agreement with workers’ representatives. Unless otherwise agreed, the dispute will be resolved according to the Cambodian Labor Law procedure. These procedures differ depending on whether it is an individual or collective dispute.

Training Objective

It is very important that the factory managers know how to deal with it. Under the Cambodian Labor Law, the labor disputes are divided into Individual Labor Disputes and the Collective ones. The Cambodian Labor Law provides different procedures for settling them. As such, as the factory managers, supervisors, team leaders, you should be able to differentiate between the individual and collective disputes and know their settlement procedures. PATTERN TRAINING AVAILABLE IN CAMBODIA

 
 

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: After many years of skills development training programs, the Cambodian Garment Training Center (CGTC) with cooperation and support from the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA), Japan set up courses on pattern making skills to help Cambodia’s industry association and garment manufacturers in localizing their experts in pattern making.

The pattern training focuses on skirts, blouses, pants, dresses and jackets drawing, creating the block pattern, knowledge of draping, body measurement, fabric choosing, cutting, ironing, dress assembling- sewing and the important steps of garments construction.

Three local trainers have trained in various pattern skills so they are qualified to be pattern trainers and are expected to work in the coming establishment of the Cambodian Garment Training Institute (CGTI) expected to be in force in 2015. Meanwhile, sixty trainees from member factories and fashion shops have completed their courses and back to their jobs while those who are self-employed are developing their fashion businesses. Both local trainers and trainees wish to have their skills upgraded to higher level from their current basic level.

To equip participants with the fundamental principles and tools in operation analysis, time and motion study, and line balancing; To do a time and motion study in the factory; To be able to trouble shoot on existing production lines, identify problems and improve productivity; To design and efficient production layout.<<Detail>>

1st - 12 to 27 March 2012
2nd - 21 May to 06 June 2012

“Attending this course, the participants not only learn the Middle Management (supervisor) role but also learn Time Study, Motion Study, Operation Analysis, Production Design and QC Principle. In addition, “5s”, a method for organizing a workplace, is also included.”

PATTERN MAKING COURSES !
 
 
     
 

GMAC has recently received technical support from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Japan, through Japan Overseas Development Corporation (JODC) to train the Pattern Making to Cambodians currently working in the garment factories. It is the 2-year training project which will start  in October 2011 from basic, followed by intermediate, and will end advance levels. 

We are now announcing the BASIC Level of Pattern Training course on SKIRT, BLOUSE, PANTS, and DRESS [one piece]. Maximum trainees of each course will be only 30 persons.
