GMAC in collaboration with ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries is
implementing an ASEAN Common Competency Project. The project aims at
establishing a Common Competency Standard for ASEAN and then conducting a test
where workers can register to test themselves to be certified. Certificate of
Competency will be jointly issued by ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries and
the National Association, GMAC in the case of Cambodia. 

The ASEAN Common Competency Standard for 5 positions has been developed and
endorsed by all ASEAN countries. The 5 positions are Sewing Machine Operator,
Sewing Machine Supervisor, Sewing Machine Mechanic, Pattern Maker and
Merchandiser. 

GMAC is conducting a Certification Test for the position of Sewing Operator
(Level I - Basic Level) to be held:

Time     : 08:00 am

Venue    : Cambodian Garment Training Center (#74, Street 67, Sangkat Phsar
           Thmey II, West of Sorya Shopping 

Language : Khmer

Max applicants: 30 

Fee      : Free of Charge

Pre-test explanation will be provided to reinforce applicants' understanding of
the test objective, the competency standard, and key competency areas to be
assessed. The candidate could raise any questions pertaining to the test. The
meeting also help candidate to feel relaxed and comfortable with the test
process. They would also be allowed to practice on the machine and choose any
machine they feel comfortable with before the actual test.

Registration Form in English or Khmer and send it back to GMAC by replying to
this e-mail or send it to GMAC office, #175, Street 215, Phnom Penh, not later
than 20 May 2010.
